Shetland Lace Shawl
Overview
Sometime in early 1998, Ted Myatt and Lois Baker decided to each knit a Shetland lace shawl. For mutual support and encouragement (probably more to my benefit than his, since this is my first shawl of this type, and he's already done several), we decided to pick a single pattern and work along together, each using our own choice of yarn. After examining most of the more widely-known choices (Sarah Don's book The Art of Shetland Lace, Gladys Amedro's Shetland Lace, and several that have appeared in various publications -- including Spin-Off and Knitter's -- in recent years), Ted discovered shawls designed by Maeve DeHetre, holder of the "World's Longest Thread" spinning record.
Ted suggested posting our progress on the Web, hence this page.
