Ted and Lois have been mulling over the pattern explanation, gauge, and various other technicalities for lo these many moons, desperately in need of a kick-start on this project, when another knitter asked the TechKnit Mailing List for shawl pattern suggestions. In reply, yet another subscriber suggested Terri deHetre's shawls. One thing led to another ... and Ted and Lois have now been joined by Jackie Erickson-Sweitzer and Prudi. Prudi had actually attempted to start this shawl at one time, but ran into difficulties; Jackie likes Terri's work and is eager to try this particular pattern. Obviously, Jackie will be the motivating force in this group -- within three weeks of joining Ted and Lois, Jackie has swatched the edging (see below), picked a yarn, and at last report has knit enough edging to reach nearly one full side of the shawl!
